The Galaxy S9 is just a days away from becoming official, with Samsung confirming that its 2018 flagship will see a launch at Mobile World Congress in February. Samsung has confirmed that 25 February 2018 is the launch date for the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ while the Galaxy S9 release date will be mid-March.
Some rumors suggest that this will be the 16 March. Previous year’s Galaxy S8 went on sale for Rs 61197.12, so we’re expecting the S9 price to be about that point. We’d expect the US Galaxy S9 price to be around Rs 44890.69. Some reports have said that the S9 will go on sale for up to $100 more than last year’s model, although that was excessive when the iPhone 8 costs $966.74- Samsung is surely unlikely to price its new handset at a more expensive point than Apple, but then it does have the Note 8 on sale for Rs 77184.37. The Rs 88731.36 iPhone X has shown that Apple fans at least are willing to pay for a more expensive handset, though not necessarily in the quantity that Samsung would surely desire the S9 to sell at.
That’s especially the case because the S9 won’t look that much different than the S8 – even if it does end up having a Face ID equivalent and other significant enhancements to the camera and battery. In contrast the iPhone X is very different to other iPhones and while it was expensive, people were prepared to pay. Last year, the Samsung Galaxy S8 showed a huge success for the company. Its new device is expected to incorporate a dual camera, continue its all-screen edge-to-edge display and feature improved processors.
There have even been rumors of an advanced dual screen design that could be coming to future Samsung phones. It is expected to have a 5.77-inch display, according to South Korea’s local News, while the Galaxy S9+ will have a 6.22-inch display (570ppi / 529ppi). According to a reports, which revealed the anticipated design of the new phone, the Samsung Galaxy S9 will include a Snapdragon 845 chip in the US and China, and Samsung’s own advanced Exynos 9810 chip in the rest of the world. Inside, it will have 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage on the regular S9, and 6GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage on the larger S9+.
The phone will come in two forms with a smaller Samsung Galaxy S9 and a larger Samsung Galaxy S9+, both with a dual camera. Other confirmed features are-64GB/128GB / 64GB/128GB/256GB storage, Cat 18 LTE support (1.2Gbps download speeds),Rear-mounted fingerprint scanner,12MP Dual Pixel camera with OIS (f/1.5, f/2.4) / Vertical dual rear-facing camera, 8MP front-facing camera, Bixby AI assistant with dedicated button,USB-C, 3.5mm headphone jack, Stereo speakers, Wireless charging support,IP68 water and dust resistance, Built-in FM radio, Updated DeX docking station, Midnight Black, Titanium Gray, and Coral Blue, Lilac Purple variants.
